The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research UK was founded in 2010 by Prader-Willi parents, joining forces with FPWR and FPWR Canada to combat Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS).

Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a genetic disorder that occurs in approximately 1 out of every 15,000 births. PWS affects males and females with equal frequency and affects all races and ethnicities and it is recognised as the most common genetic cause of life-threatening childhood obesity. 

FPWR's mission is to eliminate the challenges of Prader-Willi syndrome through the advancement of research. This high quality research then leads to more effective treatments and hopefully an eventual cure for this disorder. By working together, they intend to free their loved ones from the burdens of PWS, allowing them to lead full and independent lives.
